Biovalys joined the activity at 34th Ramathibodi Annual Pediatrics Update 2021: “Smart Use of Diagnostic Tests in Pediatric Practice” on August 2nd – 6th, 2021 via Teleconference. Biovalys have special lecture on August 3rd, 2021, the topic was “The benefit of rabies vaccine for pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis in children” by Assistant Professor Chonnamet Techasaensiri.
The key content summary from lecture is the raising of awareness of rabies disease and rabies prevention, especially in rabies pre-exposure prophylaxis. Rabies pre-exposure prophylaxis is new concept of vaccination. The vaccination will increase the confidence of rabies prevention whereas this method will reduce the pain from using immunoglobulin and will save cost from rabies post-exposure prophylaxis. PIDST also had recommended rabies pre-exposure prophylaxis as optional for Thai children who have risk, with this benefit. The lecture of rabies vaccination always received a lot of attention, with more than 100 pediatricians and healthcare providers joined this meeting.
